Important Notification to Edgewater Residents on West Nile Prevention Program


The Bergen County Mosquito Control Division will apply an ADULTICIDE, Scourge, to kill adult mosquitos in Edgewater.

Date:  Wednesday, August 16, 2000 and Monday, August 21, 2000 (weather permitting)
Time:  3 a.m. - 6 a.m.
Location:  TOWNWIDE

Method of Application:  The adulticide will be applied from the ground using hand-held units or trucks. A fine mist will be sprayed, which fully degrades in 4 hours, in sunlight, eliminating the worry of accumulation in the environment.

PRECAUTIONS RECOMMMENDED DURING SPRAYING:

  • Remain indoors and close windows as precautionary measures during spraying.
  • Cover all barbecue grills and remove children's toys from outdoors.
