EDGEWATER - An Edgewater resident was allegedly attacked inside her home at 1111 River Road this Wednesday night, May 3. According to sources, the alleged attacker was a male who is believed to also be a resident of the River Plaza condominium.

Yellow crime-scene tape around the alleged victim’s balcony fueled initial speculation among the building's residents that a murder had been committed. Investigators were at the alleged victim’s apartment until the early morning hours, and then again yesterday morning.

The woman was reportedly able to fend off her alleged attacker's assault. Sources report that the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office is classifying the incident as a burglary and attempted assault.
