Hudson Valley’s Project Mercury To Appear At Edgewater Arts Festival
While growing up in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, singer/songwriter Marian Mastrorilli often played on the cliffs above Edgewater, on the dead-end street where she lived. Now a resident of Nyack, New York, she and her band Project Mercury will return to the area to play a show practically in her old backyard: at the Edgewater Arts Festival on Sunday, September 8, 2002.
Before she was old enough to seek adventure on the cliffs, Ms. Mastrorilli found plenty of it at Palisades Amusement Park, which she immortalized in the beautiful ballad, “At Palisades”. One of the standout tracks on the band’s first CD, Light This Candle, the song has been getting regular radio airplay on WFDU-FM’s “The Front Porch”. Other tracks are being played throughout New York and New Jersey, from the Adirondacks to the Delaware Water Gap.
“A lot of dreams have come true for me this year,” says Ms. Mastrorilli, with an appearance at the New Jersey Folk Festival in April, rave reviews after the CD’s release in April, and press coverage. “It’s going to be great to play these songs in my old stomping grounds.”
The band will also appear at Acme Underground on Wednesday, September 18th at 8:00pm, 9 Great Jones, New York, NY, 212-677-6963.
Project Mercury appears at the Edgewater Arts Festival at 5:00 p.m. To learn more about Project Mercury, visit their web site at www.projectmercury.net.
